My Life, My Passion

Writing, Music, Animals. The three top passions of my life-- in no particular order.

I have been writing for six years though somehow it seems as if I have been writing my whole life. I love every aspect of it, even the writer's block. Because after all is said and done, I've created something within the realm of my passion, I have successfully put down in words my most personal feelings and emotions. Sometimes the end result is great. Sometimes it's just good. And sometimes I definitely have the days where I wonder why I even bothered. But it all comes down to wanting to share my life in the form of one of the arts that I know best: poetry. Writing is "My Life, My Passion". So without further adieu here are my deepest feelings and emotions on the subject that is steadily becoming a bigger part of me.

Taking it all in,
Writing it all down,
This is what I do,
This is what I love.

Capturing more details,
More feeling and emotion
Than a photo ever could,
Ah, the benefits of words.

The detailed sketching
Of a perfect moment in time,
Something with meaning,
Meant to both be shared and kept private
In our most personal places of memory.
For holding,
For safe keeping,
For use sometime later.

This is poetry,
This is prose,
This is Language,
And this is the power of words.
